Nuisance Vehicles in Minster-on-Sea and Sheerness |
||
|
Good morning Resident,
#YouSaidWeDid
On Thursday 26th and Friday 27th March I’ve worked alongside my community safety unit colleagues and we’ve spent our shifts focusing on nuisance vehicles – focusing on eScooters, eBikes, quadbikes, dirtbikes etc.
Within the 2 hours of leaving the police station on the 26th my colleagues and I have stopped a suspicious car and arrested the driver and seized a sur-ron electric bike and a bicycle that had converted into an eBike. The stopped driver tried to give false details but we were able to prove who he was and I’ve arrested him. We’ve then seized a sur-ron motorbike at Barton’s Point Coastal Park and then shortly afterwards seized the converted eBike on the sea wall along Marine Parade in Sheerness.
Then on the 27th colleagues and I have carried on our attempts at dealing with the nuisance vehicles, unfortunately the weather deteriorated and rain ended any hopes of catching people as they weren’t out and about. In the time we had, my colleagues have seized a quadbike and motorbike at Barton’s Point. Shortly afterwards I’ve managed to stop 2 youths on their eScooters and with my colleagues help move the large group on and seize their eScooters.
Continued efforts will be made by myself and my team to deal with nuisance vehicles , especially with the weather getting warmer by the week and the run up to the summer months.
Please continue to report sightings of nuisance vehicles to Kent Police via 101, livechat or 999. I will always try to make efforts to follow up these phone calls as I want to know as much information as possible about the persons riding the vehicles, or the vehicles in general.
Kind regards,
